RIP Fernando Ricksen, age 43. Motor Neurone Disease is awful
He was Rangers captain and a legend. Fun fact about Fernando - he's Dutch and would often be asked how he got his name. His parents were huge ABBA fans, and he was named after the song "Fernando" 🙂
The scenes at around 1:00 in this video are of his testimonial match to raise money for research, and one of the few times I've seen my relatives get emotional.
