A tad bit of sympathy for BYU Coaches

Love that BYU is 2-2. Very fortunate. Shows that our first string and some of 2nd string can compete at P5 levels.

After watching too much football yesterday and today, P5 teams have solid two deep and even three deep players. There is some drop off but not like BYU or a G5 program.

If BYU made it to a P5 conference, like Utah in the early days, it would be 6-6 seasons until recruiting caught up to the schedule.

Kalani and the BYU coaches know this. You can only do so much with the layers of talent you have. That is where the sympathy comes in.

Now that we know where we stand with P5 teams, the rest of the season is 100% on the coaches. All of the games BYU should have the talent to compete and win. Realistically, BYU should win out. Boise is probably the only game that could be a loss. That is my old school BYU thinking. I'm hoping the players and coaches rise to that level. Next two games will be a big indicator if they are taking the next step.

Go Cougars!!
