So I tried overclocking the processor on my 7 yr old lynksys router
I flashed ddwrt onto it in 2016 and it runs fine. However, running all my traffic through an openvpn protocol seems to be hurting my stream quality. I have pretty good download speeds from the ISP but don't get a perfect 1080p image on my streaming cable.

I clocked it up to 1200mhz and the poor thing didn't last 10 minutes before it overheated and rebooted. I tried it at 1000mhz and it was still running really hot.

My picture quality is pretty good and I don't get buffering but I really want to Max it out. I'm contemplating just getting an Asus since the top of the line models have faster processors and RAM plus I don't need to flash new firmware onto it.
