I disagree with multiple points
You spoke of recruiting advantages. The intelligent disciplined receivers who run crisp routes have not come to BYU for over a decade. The big, mature offensive linemen have been nonexistent, and its safe to say this position was Broncos biggest recruiting weakness. It's getting better under Kalani, but the current OL is still below average. Quarterback recruiting and development has been atrocious. And I dont care about stars or recruiting rankings. BYU has not recruited an above average quarterback since Max Hall in 2005. Think about it. BYU hasnt recruited anything even approaching an NFL quarterback in 15 years. The article is full of stereotypes about the BYU of the i0s and early 90s. The advantages you cite have evaporated.

I'll argue that even with perfect health, we wouldn't look all that much better. Our QB talent has sucked. Outside of Anae 1.0, our offensive coordinating has sucked. The success of the late 2000s is a direct result of the talent Gary Crowton was able to assemble, and excellent offensive coordinating by Anae.
