If so, given the fact that Tysom got hurt by not taking a knee (and I think that was due to a bad call/confusion on the part of an OC?) and also by trying to leap over a guy in the last (non-bowl) game of the season, it seems like part of the fix would be to teach our QBs better that they need to temper their desire to win. No, not "reduce" their desire to win, but "temper" it, "control" it and part of that is avoiding unnecessary risks.
