Notre Dame and Clemson are in the bottom 30 in time of possession
But when you're not sustaining drives and you can't generate 3 and outs, you'll both be doing poorly in time of possession and in wins and losses.

The issue though is field position. Give up drives and then field position is bad, which hurts scoring.
