I've always thought it was dumb to force the same rules onto a kid who isn't on scholarship (getting paid) as on the ones that are on scholarship especially if another school is willing to give the kid a scholarship. But even if another school isn't giving him a scholarship why should it matter? The school he is at doesn't value him much, he's not gotten anything for his efforts, he should be able to go elsewhere.
