Very curious to see what happens tomorrow in the BYU-USF game
This game is huge for BYU to become bowl eligible. I realize it's a bare minimum goal but it's the only season long goal that BYU really has an independent (along with finishing ranked). If the Cougars don't win this week, they'll likely have to finish with four straight wins to make it to Hawaii. BYU has had two weeks to prepare to for a struggling team with similar players (USF has a 4 year recruiting average of 72, BYU is at 75 - https://www.sbnation.com/college-football-recruiting/2019/2/7/18215228/college-football-recruiting-rankings-2019-class). I respect USF and don't see this as a slam dunk win (BYU is only a 5 pt favorite) but I think there will be some questions answered this week.

USF has had some serious struggles over the past year but played well againt UConn (one of the worst teams in the FBS) last week running for over 300 yards (and BYU hasn't been able to stop the run). They also have a running QB which really hurt BYU against Toledo. Can BYU find a way to stop the run this week?

Will BYU be able to move the ball effectively with Jaren Hall? Will BYU be able to establish a running attack? The offense hasn't looked great with our starting QB and RB and now we are down to the 2nd string. What kind of game plan can Jeff Grimes put together?

Will the Cougars come out ready to play after two straight losses or is USF too insignificant of a program to get the team excited and motivated?

If BYU comes out unmotivated again or is still unable to stop the run or move the ball on offense, I expect some seats to start getting rather warm. Injuries always come up as an excuse but after 4 years, the coaches have to figure out how to keep players healthy and stop moving players around each season to make up for holes in our depth.
