Listen, I've made my opinion on BM known on this site. I think he's weird, I think he's ridiculous with a lot of stuff, and I wouldn't have my son play for him.

That doesn't change the fact that he's clearly a competent coach, and his way is a way that can work. We've been through a series of mediocre coaches, so we know what that looks like. We know that there's nothing special about UVA football-wise that structurally makes it so we ought to be above-average.

Our history has been largely that of a cruddy football program with the one bright spot of George Welsh.

We got greedy under Welsh and pined to reach that mythical "next level".

F doing that again. I will take eight to nine wins a year for 20 years with a smile, and I will put in money to build the statue to that weird SOB when he wants to retire, if that's how it plays out.
