Bronco could have left long before he did for more $

Dave Rose likely could’ve gone elsewhere

We’ve got 60,000+ missionaries who pay their own way to spread the gospel

Many professors & administrators are willing to take a pay cut to work for BYU

I just don’t think throwing $$$ at football coaches or athletic facilities is a serious consideration of the BoT or Church leaders (debatable whether they should). They figure they can find plenty of talent willing to work at the Y on a so-so budget and still expect excellence. Our entire history is based on that assumption and it has worked surprisingly well.

I thought Kalani could be Bronco with a higher ceiling, but it didn’t work out. You never really know. Someone else will step up, overachieve with our given resources, win 8-10 games a year, and get us back on track to where we were - maybe even better.
