Maybe so - it seems to be that BYU is headed in the wrong direction
I'm not sure that BYU can survive another 5 or so years of the status quo (especially with schedules that will make it likely to get worse before it gets better).
What will attendance, fan support, recruiting, TV money, ticket sales, etc look like if BYU averages 4-8 the next 5 years? And what if Utah continues to compete for Rose Bowls and USU gets an NY6 bid as well?
Sure, BYU may find a new Lavell that resurrects an absolutely dead program but I don't think that is very likely to happen.
BYU football supports all of BYU's other sports and if the money runs out...
