Could Sitake or pretty much any FBS head coach drop down to FCS and be
successful?

I don't know the answer to that question, but all the talk about Jay Hill at Weber made me question whether Hill is a great football coach or does he look great because he's coaching at the FCS level. I honestly have no idea. I think it's a concern that you have to at least consider. I've never watched Weber play. I haven't seen what the game plans look like or whether lots of adjustments are made during the course of a game. I don't know if he's an above-average FCS recruiter and just has better athletes and wins because of that.

There are a lot of very highly successful high school coaches out there. Very few of them would make successful FBS coaches. There's a much smaller gap between FCS and FBS than there is between HS and FBS, but the same principal applies. Just because you're successful at one level doesn't mean you'll be successful at a higher level.

I'm not defending Sitake and saying we need to stick with him for the future. I am saying we have to look past Hill's W/L record at the FCS level and try to determine what his skill set is and if that skill set is likely to make him successful at BYU or any other FBS school.
