1 - MAJOR props to Dave...Blaine...David and Spencer. Perhaps channeling the spirit of the mysteriously departed Brian Logan...they didn't pull a SINGLE punch or try to sugar-coat or spin this turd of an effort. Memo to Greg Wrubell - you should watch this and learn that even "company men" can toss off the blue goggles when the occasion is called for and do some "truth telling" (movie pop reference to Meryl Streep in 'August: Osage County') Nixon doubled-down on this on KSL Sportsbeat Sunday in his in-studio analysis. Good on him. Good on ALL of them. Bonus points for Spencer asking some hard questions to the players..face-to-face on the field in Tampa. Kid didn't back down.
In some really weird way...when I heard them echoing most of CB's feelings on TV...it was somehow comforting...or at least...analgesic.
2 - No more live studio audience. Didn't they used to invite local fans into the studio for the away games to watch them on a big screen and munch on free...cheap pizza...then act like mooks when the cameras panned across them going in and out of breaks? When did this stop? Why? Budget issues? (someone on CB suggested that B. Logan's vanishing act was a budget casualty)
