Surprised Boise is only favored by 6.5 points
If I were a betting man, that seems like really easy money.

To me, this season is starting to feel a lot like the 2003 season. BYU started out okay with a home win against Georgia Tech then a respectable showing at USC (which went on to share the national championship).

BYU followed that up with an ugly win at New Mexico but that was the beginning of injuries starting to pile up. They had two relatively poor showings at home against Stanford (the "win by 9 and not 2" game) and Air Force, ultimately losing both. But they were at least in those games.

Then after, what seems in restrospect, a fluke win at San Diego St., the wheels just totally came off. BYU was blown out at home by Colorado St., then later by Boise St., and finally shut out by Utah to end that disasterous season. BYU finished the year 1-5 at home, while losing 5 of their last 6 games overall, the sole win coming in overtime at UNLV.

Right now, BYU feels like the same team that was about to get blown out by Colorado St. and Boise St. in 2003. It just feels like the wheels are about to really come off.

And, in case you think I'm being too negative, at least the 2003 team had managaed to outscore 3 opponents in regulation by the halfway point. BYU has yet to do that this season.

In addition, with the exception of blowout home losses to Colorado St. and Boise St., BYU's defense otherwise played reasonably well that year. So they at least had something they could sort of hang their hat on. Right now, it seems like BYU has nothing to hang its hat on.
