Why would I blame them? They didn't misattribute the quote

and take it out of context.  You probably got it from the gospel memes page or heard it in Sunday School - I don't know.  But I don't think it came from the part of the website that specifically explains in-depth the mission statement of the Church.

And you also neglect to clarify what the Church itself points out on its website - that it is actually a quote from Franklin D. Richards, not a quote from President McKay as official church policy.  So it seems the Church is attributing it correctly, but you are not.

This is my issue, and maybe too fine of a point, I am willing to concede.  But like so many other debates on CB around these types of issues, you choose to simply incorrectly attribute the quote.  Then you take it out of context and use it as a rhetorical device in an attempt to strengthen an argument claiming that the church has to either loosen up admissions or give more money or whatever to the football program.

Again, go ahead and make the argument, but when you claim that something is Church policy, or that a random, unclearly attributed quote is "one of the [Church's] mission statements" - make sure that it actually is.
