Understanding that no one is perfect, what percentage of plays
Would you expect a player to “win” on to consider them “good?”

50%?
60%?
70%?

In my mind an average player will “win”— I.e block his man, cover his man, get open, not let anyone in his zone get open, beat the opposing guy’s block, whatever— 50% of the time against average competitors.

Anyone who can win more than 60% of the time against average competitors is good. And if you can win 70% of the time against average competitors you are really a good player. 80% plus and you are likely to play in the NFL. I doubt if you looked at it that very many players win that much or more against average competition in college. If you’re winning 9/10 you’re likely a 1-2 round draft pick.
