Obviously I wouldn't recommend them to kids but if this is for you, and you're
an adult and you want to watch a scary creepy movie then the ones I mentioned fit the bill even though they are rated R.
So I guess the question is really if this is for kids or adults. If an adult, no reason to exclude those I listed (since no gore or over the top violence).
The Shining (as mentioned below) is another good one and a classic to boot.
