Talked to pretty good LDS recruit last week that always wanted to play at BYU but won’t come because he wants to play high-level football. The only reason BYU has even been in the equation is Kalani. One could also argue that the reason BYU won’t be the landing spot is also because of the state of the program under Kalani..
Either way, I’ve been pretty vocal about firing Kalani but this convo helped me realize that the problems are WAY deeper than him. We are a joke of a program. Until now, I’ve been really confident and vocal about the future of the program, but I’m starting to believe that we really may be seeing the death of BYU football.
It took me a few days to post this because I usually hate these kind of posts but I think I’m fully converted to the BYU needs to decide to either fund the team or shut it down. I don’t think a few good wins or seasons will fix the issues we have.. i also am not sure if firing Kalani will actually do anything. I really don’t think anyone could have success at current day BYU, even Bronco
