The analytics are in our favor on 4th and inches. Get 4 inches and win the game.

Or punt and risk giving up another TD like you did TWICE PREVIOUSLY IN THE 4th QUARTER. Boise had all the momentum. You never give the ball back to a hot team with 2 minutes left, especially when they only need a FG to tie, unless your goal is to lose. Also, the numbers/stats would not tell you that 10/10 times you should punt when you need 4 inches to win the game on 4th down. That is a trump-esque statement with zero validitiy to it except in your own mind. Especially when you can end the game by getting 4 inches. I think most coaches in today's game would disagree with you. Obviously ours did, and it worked out.

Your blanket statement and fake facts of 10/10 times take nothing from the circumstances, momentum, flow of the game into account. Here is the real data:QB Sneaks on 4th and short are successful 80% of the time. 4th and inches is even higher. Nearly every statistical study suggest that in most 4th and short situations, going for it is the proper percentage play.
