BYU does't let them fully practice until they have been cleared.
Based upon how Jaren appeared on the sideline against USF, I would say his was more of a minor concussion where 15+ years ago, maybe even 10, he would have returned to the game.
You are always more susceptible to re-injury that first game after. I believe that is why they took no chances with Jaren.
