The AAC has its ideal scenario with UConn leaving. A bottom-dweller voluntarily

leaving the conference is fantastic for AAC football. Recent bottom-dwellers SMU and Tulane are actually contenders this year. Tulsa and ECU are the other two bottom-dwellers, but have some history. The AAC is a pretty solid football conference right now. The ideal scenario would be for BYU, Boise State, San Diego State, and Air Force to join the conference, along with Gonzaga for Olympic sports.

I think that expanded AAC could get a marquee bowl game for its champion, such that it truly wouldn't be part of the Group of Five anymore. And, that's the only scenario that would make sense for BYU to join...as one of the flagship programs in a new power conference.
