Since he works for the Jazz. But he’s been pretty vocal about Jeff’s Greens lack of rebounding, going through play by play where he had lapses in rebounding effort and being pushed around, and pointing out that he only has 11 rebounds for the whole year, and no offensive boards. Apparently Greens rebounding rate is less than a lot of guards.
He also talked about Royce being outmatched as a pf and how his rebounding hasn’t been very good. He said Royce and Greens plus minus isn’t very good, which I think in part reflects how the 2nd unit has played, not great. Ngang also has a porous plus minus in his limited minutes.
In his play by play review of the Clippers game he also identified many cases where Conley could have helped more with the boards while conceding he’s too small to consistently contribute much.
He says some of the jazz offensive issues stem from more teams dropping a big to prevent the lob and to keep Rudy off the rim. Conley and Donovan also are having more struggles to get to the rim, but at least Donovan is shooting better and drawing more fouls. Shots at the rim, including dunks, are down quite a bit from last year across most bigs and teams across the league.
