On November 7, 2012 our youngest daughter graduated from mortality following an 18 month battle with cancer. She has now been gone almost twice as long as she was with us, and yet she is an ever present part of our family.

If you ever start to question the eternal nature of our spirits, let’s talk. Clara has a real relationship with two younger brothers who never met her and continues to influence our family for good.

As for the pain of loss - you never get over it. You just get used to it. I never want to lose that feeling of missing her. In a strange way that is hard to describe in words, the pain is comforting, soothing, and a reminder of everything good about Clara. I hope I hurt like this until the day I die.
