That’s how old our little angle would have turned last week. It’s been 2 years since she passed at Christmas time. I didn’t know it at the time, but you sharing your experience with Clara prepared me for losing Evey.
She was brand new when Clara earned her flight wings, and I remember sitting in the NICU reading your posts after they told us we’d be lucky to have her for a year. We got four more years than we imagined before she too graduated. And she too remains a regular and definite presence in our lives. Our spirits and families are of an eternal nature.
It’s a weird hurt and pain because they were so bright that even though you miss them to the point of tears and fears, the pain of their memory actually makes you smile. They shone so bright in their short little lives that their afterglow remains brighter and warmer than most of the other lights in our lives.
Thank you for your example my friend.
