Great BYU man laid to rest today...

Don't know if reference has been made to this yet on the board but funeral services were held today for George Curtis, former head of athletic training at BYU from 1985 through 2005.  Many, many former BYU athletes were in attendance.  Their support was phenomonal.  George was a great man with personal and professional accolates too numerous to list.  Since joining the church in 1971 George has directly impacted the lives of thousands.  We learned this morning that George has baptized over 175 people since 1975.  Many of them prominent BYU athletes who felt the power of the gospel message in George's straight talk and Christ-like example.

Coach Sitake, Tom Holmoe, Chad Lewis and dozens of former players, coaches, administrators, friends and family paid a powerful tribute to a truly outstanding man.  As was the case when Ollie Julkunen passed away almost 20 years ago, the "Spirit of the Y" was apparent at the service.  I couldn't be more proud to belong to the greatest university family on the face of the earth.  Go Cougs!
