It’s actually quite common for broadcasters to do the exact same thing though. Anything over 14 is usually referred to as 3 scores, but 8 would usually be called 1 score. It is a bit inconsistent, but this is the way I’ve always seen and heard it done.

But if it bothers you, go ahead and remove the 8 point win game from the data set for your own analysis.
