The reason I think next year's team will be a bowl team even with an increased number of P5's is because BYU has proven that generally it can compete with anybody on its schedule. The only non competitive game this year was Washington. It's seems to be very hard for this BYU team to "get up" for "inferior" competition for some reason. I think this is an unintended consequence of independence. P5 games and quality G5 games with cachet seems to matter more to this team that run-of-the-mill or lower G5 games. It's just psychology that applies to all of us every day in our jobs and lives -Low reward, lower effort. So, this staff needs to fix that. But otherwise, I think the program could be looking up.
