I thought he had a poor night. He certainly didn't have a great shooting night. But then I looked at the box score and saw he shot 5-13, which isn't dreadful. What you want to see is that FGA number around 20. If keying in on Bogey becomes a trend then I look forward to see how Snyder counters it. It could mean better looks for Conley. Tonight, it meant good looks for Green and Mudiay. Luckily, they stepped up.
The Nets were practically begging Mudiay to shoot. He obliged early, but later started driving it in despite the space he had and began getting better scoring opportunities for himself and others. That's counter-intuitive. You'd think a wide open three would be better than a somewhat contested 10 footer. But that's probably not the case for him. Either way, it's a win-win situation for the defense because mid-range shots aren't great. So when Mudiay is out there, you just have to hope the team treads water. All of the constraints Donovan had last year resurface when he's out there with Mudiay. It's like playing with Rubio. Unless he miraculously becomes a competent outside shooter, I bet his minutes will dwindle as the Jazz approach the playoffs.
