I'm Gen-X, so I'm outside this conflict, but I noticed a few years ago lots of sneering talk about Millenials, and what wimps they are, lazy, entitled, etc., mostly from people older than me. I just heard my neighbor complaining about a nice young couple in these terms a couple of months ago.
But now I'm seeing the opposite from Millenials who are now coming into their own as adults and professionals in their twenties and thirties. "Boomer" is being used as an epithet, casually tossed out there on boards in the way people used to sarcastically say "get off my lawn!" Now they say, "Nice story, Boomer." They seem very resentful of a world they feel the Boomers have stacked against them, and continue to do so. As the Baby Boomer generation continues to age, it's inevitable that they'll get more and more of the brunt of this.
Generational conflict. I guess it's nice to be part of a small, largely ignored cohort, although when I was a teen, we got a lot of the "lazy" Gen-X stuff, too. It just seems to stick more to the Millenials.
