I think I've been through this before.
Wilson or McMahon in 1979
Or the not so wonderful years with
Feterick, Shoemaker, Walsh, some kid named Drew Miller and Ryan Hancock (who was one of the better of the bunch).
I will give these coaches this much. They probably have watched a ton of film on each of these guys, they see them
every day in practice, they are very aware of what they see or don't see on the field.
Zach had a much tougher schedule then Hall or Romney and at times he was good and others he looked average.
But I don't think either Boise or USU had a defense worth being too concerned about. Hall didn't rip it up against USF
and they had a more athletic defensive line then either Boise or Utah State. So I wouldn't call Zach a dud.
Zach's problem is running Grimes offense earlier in the year. I think they've made a lot of changes to the overall way they
run the offense and I think Zach will excel with the new play calling.
As for Hall and Romney, I love having them as backup guys if we need to replace Zack if he's injured again. As for
beating him out, they have their opportunity this upcoming offseason. Not sure why this is really a debate but it is CougarBoard
and almost every organization's 2nd and 3rd string QBs are more popular then the starter if he's not throwing 400 yards a game
and chucking 5 TD's.
