Dante Exum will play in 6-9 games over the course of the next two weeks. He will gradually look less tentative and at times show flashes of brilliance. Then, in a game at Philadelphia on December 2, he will take Ben Simmons off the dribble, accelerate, jump high in the air for a rim rattling dunk and everyone will be thrilled because he's officially showing his lottery promise.
Two days later, the Jazz will issue a press release saying that Dante isn't playing because of knee pain. Three days later, they'll say that he's having season ending knee surgery.
It'll be a flash of brilliance followed by a whimper.
