I would guess that they have to make sure the AAC is accepting of being switched
somewhere else before they can officially invite Hawaii. AAC may very well be happy being switched somewhere else, but they have to see how things shake out and if they get the G5 NY6 invite.
I think the contract is with the AAC, and for now they have to respect that until they can see if the switcheroo will work out.

I believe what it is, is that Hawai’i is guaranteed a berth in the bowl, if eligible, but they can still be chosen for
