I know, I know many fans will just write this off as not important or perhaps even agree to Sitake's extension. To me it shows BYU is absolutely committed to mediocrity. It makes me think that some folks have spent far too much of their life in Utah Valley.
Sure, Sitake is a good guy and has been an okay coach but BYU is nowhere close to having a top 15 type team - even for just one season. Four years in and we are still very average at best in the trenches which unless greatly improved will limit BYU's ceiling. It's obvious that as long as BYU goes bowling and there are no major scandals, it's not going to do anything with the head coach. I can't really say this is surprising but just another confirmation that BYU doesn't really care about being competitive in college football. Yay!
