Very ironically, his cashing in on this is the embodiment of the "American Way" he's denouncing.
He has had multiple opportunities to break into teams as a backup, which is something that most quarterbacks coming off a 2-14 season would immediately jump at, but this is a MUCH surer thing...and he gets to keep his body and his brain and he gains far more fame. Backup quarterbacks don't get murals painted of them.
