A 12-1 P12 champion Utah team deserves to be looked at, absolutely.
Unfortunately for Utah they don’t have total control of their own destiny. A one loss Bama/LSU/UGA probably all deserve to get in and it’s a possibility they all end the year with one loss (would require UGA upset over LSU in CC and no regular season stumbling by anyone).
In any case UTAH is probably up for the 4th spot with a one loss B12 champion (OU or Baylor), one or multiple one loss SEC teams, or a one loss B10 champion (if tOSU loses to Michigan or in CC, or even if MINNESOTA runs it rest of way).
It’s tough to argue Utah over those scenarios. Even though they have looked as good as they have.
