No one understands why I am a BYU fan

I am not sure why I am a BYU fan either. I have no family ties to the school, I'm not a Mormon, and being in my mid 20s I am seemingly surrounded by peers who are only Utah fans. But for some reason I have a deep love for this football program.

I can't lie and say I haven't experimented a little though...my wife grew up and attended school in Ohio, so for a year or so I attempted to hide my true self and root for Ohio State. But the blue blood just kept seeping through. I could not escape the grasp that this team had on me.

I first remember watching BYU in 2005 when they lost to TCU 51-50. And from that moment I was hooked. BYU football has given me more roller coasters of emotions than any other team I have ever watched, and I am addicted. Through the highs and the lows I tune in every year and every game to cheer on my boys in blue (preferably royal but the navy looks good too). BYU feels like family to me and that is what is incredible about this football program.

So even though I might not agree with the all of the policies and teachings of the school, I will proudly tell everyone I am a BYU fan and I will continue to donate and support anything that makes this team better.
