I've only driven during the dinner rush, starting right after I leave the office and going for about 2 hours. I'm sure if you try to do it full time the hourly rate will drop, but it's OK for just driving a car around for a few hours before going home for the evening.
I tried driving for Lyft previously and the rate doing that was around $10/hr and dealing with passengers made the experience worse. I have no plans to do ride-sharing again.
The biggest difference is that people tip generously for food delivery, and barely tip at all for ride-sharing.

reffing rugby. not really a side hustle because the money is minimal but it's fun and keeps me running
