Yep, I have some nice notes from students that I keep in my drawer. The best one
was when a student wrote: You’re the second best teacher ever after Mrs. P.!
Honestly, Mrs. P. is a great teacher, so it was indeed a compliment.
This same student wrote me a kind thank you note again when she graduated from high school this past June, even though I taught her way back in fifth grade.
Those things stick with you. And gift cards are nice too.
