NFL broadcasting question
Why does the NFL have in place a system in which the visiting team’s network (Fox is NFC, CBS is AFC) handles the game? For example, Buffalo plays at Dallas today so CBS covers it.

It seems to me that it would make more sense for the home team’s network to cover inter conference games since they already cover intra conference games at those venues. They have the conference expertise, relationships, infrastructure, etc.

The effect of this policy is that Troy Aikman, who works for Fox and happens to live in Dallas because he’s a product of Dallas,is in Detroit today (NFC vs NFC) and the CBS team is following Buffalo in Dallas (AFC vs NFC).
