I agree, except that my theory is that TH gave KS certain criteria
In order to earn an extension. I think the final criteria was bowl eligibility this year. Clearly beating Toledo and USF were not part of the criteria.
Once KS met that criteria, TH’s hands were tied. If he is a man of his word, he is forced to offer the extension. The only decision for TH is regarding the timing.
Do you extend after 4 consecutive wins, something that hasn’t happened in YEARS, and at a time when TH has maximum possible public support? Or after potentially two consecutive losses to end the season?
The timing of the extension was a nobrainer.
