I think it is position specific, and that is how it should be trained. NO clue if BYU does that.
OL/DL Need more strength and power than a corner or WR, who need more fast twitch. One size fits all, regardless of methodology just won;t work in a sport like football. But avoiding lifts more likely to cause injury makes sense as well no what what it's purpose is.
