Ever tried it?
I will start by saying I have no direct or even indirect connection to either chiropractors or acupuncturists or a health related industry. I have no axe to grind.

I am also criticized by my wife for being a skeptic of everything. I am a big believer in science and the scientific method. I would also like to think I have a strong testimony of the restored gospel. I say this to give perspective for this anecdote.

On my mission I had a terrible bout of stomach sickness with accompanied headache and neck pain. I was very uncomfortable. It lasted some time. We had an acupuncturist member of the church who desperately wanted to help and I was 19 at the time and maybe not weighing all consequences and willing to give it a try. I like to experience things first hand and was always skeptical of needles being poked at strategic points could possibly be anything more than a placebo effect. How could parasites die or damage be corrected with a few strategically placed needles. I figured it was pure garbage and unlikely to do harm (not completely thinking through the sanitary part of the needles, although he appeared to clean his tools in my presence with alcohol etc). I had zero expectations it would work or do much of anything.

Say what you will, but it certainly worked on me. The moment one needle hit between my thump and finger on the wide part of my hand I felt a minor jolt down my arm and my headache was gone. Not slightly, not slowly... it was gone, instantly. It did not return. I had no other side effects.

Then he placed some other needles and my stomach issues improved within a very short time. I have no idea how it could limit my continual trips to the bathroom, but it did. I still had some things to evacuate, but it stopped the continual trips and overall feeling of overwhelming fatigue and sickness. I was certainly not jumping to my feet, but I felt a lot better and improved quickly. I did not relapse at all. I just improved quickly and was better.

I have no idea how it all works, and admit it can go too far but it most certainly worked on me.

I would also assume you have never had back or neck pain relieved by an adjustment. I can say for certain there are a great many people that depend heavily on adjustments to avoid taking pills for severe pain.
