make it in. Will that negatively affect BYU? Maybe slightly, but Utah is already far ahead of BYU as a program now anyway. Anyone who chooses BYU over Utah at this point is the kind of kid who dreamt of coming to BYU and will end up there regardless of Utah’s postseason results.

What upsets me here is the general notion that a school should be left out of the playoff due to TV ratings or being a smaller brand than a team behind them. As BYU fans we know what it’s like being left out because of politics, and it sucks. As much as I dislike Utah, I dislike the principle of politics superseding a team’s resume even more - it’s kept us out of a P5 on multiple occasions and I will not support it.
