Doesn’t that help BYU’s case that the big 12 needs to rethink they’re 10-team strategy?
Clearly, it would mean the committee didn’t value a second win over the same team.
And Baylor’s poor rankings for most of this year, despite its strong record, indicate that the perception of the Big 12 is wanting.
Further, between Oklahoma and Utah, the best out of conference win was... BYU.
What if OU had matched Utah’s best win with the same caliber W?
A smaller brand like Utah getting in over Oklahoma would be a direct consequence to the league’s decision not to expand.
Let’s not kid ourselves. BYU is more than deserving of P5 status. The Cougars would add a strong fan base, great brand and compelling tradition while expanding the footprint.
And providing access to Utah, what is becoming a pretty prime recruiting ground.
Wouldn’t it make sense for BYU fans to root for the Big 12 to suffer — or at least to rethink things?
