I find this very interesting...
and it backs up something I’ve believed for awhile which is that there are a lot of qbs out there that are plenty good to be starters but don’t get the chance on their teams.

It’s a tough position because only one guy plays so the opportunity to prove themselves in a game are almost non existent so once a starter is chosen he has to either get injured or really suck for a change to be made which doesn’t happen a lot.

And another thing that factors into it is that some coaches are better than others at identifying QB talent coming from HS so they tend to sign multiple quality qbs, the standard model for programs is to sign one QB every year, and so with redshirts and a new guy coming in each year the schools that are good at identifying the best HS QB talent get a glut and so guys look to transfer out to a place where they can get a better chance.

It is why I expect BYU to lose at least one of their three top QBs this offseason, they’re all bunched together and a couple of them will never get more than spot play and maybe a one year starting gig as a Sr.

Can’t blame them for doing it.
