There a few things that go in to this. The animals age/condition/state when he
shot it etc that you have no control over. An old buck shot during the rut usually won't taste as good as a fat young doe who's been hanging out in the alfalfa.

He may be bringing you good venison and you're cooking it wrong, or he may be bringing you good venison that you're cooking right and just don't have the taste for it. He may also be bringing you crap. Also, what's he bringing you? Steak? Roast? Ground meat?

If it's ground meat, use it like any other ground meat. Easy.

If it's steak, grill it. Do so on a HOT grill with nothing but salt/pepper. Remember, venison is lean so it's a good idea to oil your grill grates before cooking. Cook them to rare - remember, lean. When you think to yourself "these are about ready..." take them off right then.

If it's roast, sear then braise it. Throw in some carrots, potatoes and stock just for fun. Pretty easy.

If you try all these and still hate it. Just jerk it all.
