I think you misunderstood my post
I agree with you that if it happened it was a minority, as in maybe a handful of people. My point is just because you aren't LDS doesn't mean you would boo the prophet... just like you wouldn't boo the Pope, Dahli Lama or any other religious leader. (Side note but I think it is a very bad look for the Church when people here are so hyper-critical of people of other religions or of no faith).

Like you, I have more Utah friends than BYU friends, a few who have very hard feelings towards the church but I can't see any of them doing something like that. At best I can see a few fans booing.

Regarding your age, I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about how in the original thread there were a few people who claimed they were there and witnessed it... then someone came and called at least one of their BS, as they had posted previously something that indicates they were at best one year old at the time of it happening. In other words they lied and said they were there when they actually weren't.

It also seems strange that so many BYU fans were at a Utah game when it happened and also happen to post here on CB.

So then I thought, "Well maybe it was the BYU/Utah game..." but that game happened almost a month after his death, AND that game happened at BYU.

So, that seems to eliminate that narrative too.

Further, I was surprised that as claimed SWK was a Utah graduate because I knew he was from Arizona. So I went and looked and he never attended Utah (he did a semester at BYU) so that debunked that rumor.

In short, this is the wrong place to get the facts regarding this incident, particularly given people's propensity to either outright lie or at best misremember something that happened nearly 35 years. (I'm not saying you are lying or misremembering, I'm saying others have).

Now I do on rare occasion go to Utah games with friends. Each time has been without incident, and I was even there one time when Elder Haight passed away. He played for Utah and they did have a moment of silence which was just fine and I believe Utah wore a patch with his number for the rest of the year. This was certainly at a time when things got so acrimonious, and a less prominent figure, so if there was a time to have misbehavior it would be then, but it didn't happen.

Granted, Kimball was also president during visible moments for the Church with race and ERA issues, so probably had people dwelling on hard feelings. So that takes me back to your conclusion, that maybe a few fans booed. But very very doubtful there was a banner, that garbage rained down on it, or anything else, if it happened at all.
