My Push for a TRUE College Football Playoff
It has been a slow week at work with Christmas around the corner. With that being said, I have been putting together my thoughts on what I think a realistic and good option would be in determining a "true" national champion for College Football.

First, I have felt that 12 teams would be the sweet spot for this. I like 16 but doubt the powers that be would go that high. Here is how I think a 12 team playoff would work.

Criteria:

1. All P5 conference Championship winners.
2. Highest ranked G5 Team. (BYU "could" be the replacement if they are ranked highest)
3. 6 At Large P5 teams based on ranking.
4. Top 4 ranked teams get the first-round bye.

This would be done in 4 rounds.

1st Round of Playoffs Seeds 5-12 Play. Higher ranked teams get Home field advantage.
2nd Round of Playoffs. This is where the current NY6 and Current Playoff bowl games come into play (6 Bowls).
3rd Round of Playoffs (Quarterfinals). This is where the current NY6 and Current Playoff bowl games come into play (6 Bowls).
4th Round of Playoffs (Champ Game). This can be a rotated location (NFL Stadium) assigned each year.

In essence, if this were to happen, this is how it would look this season:

I think this would work out well as you would have teams represented from each of the P5 conferences and then 1 at a large G5 team. You would always pull from the top 11 ranked teams and extend the olive branch to one G5. Plus, those matchups would be awesome, and IMO would put College Football in the front runner of Playoffs to watch.

This year would have the following from each conference:

SEC = 3 Teams
BIG10 = 3 Teams
ACC = 1 Team
BIG12 = 2 Teams
PAC12 - 2 Teams
AAC = 1 Team.

You would still include the NY6 Bowls as markee matchups involved in the Playoffs as well. Plus, I like the potential of a cinderella chance to occur.
