Yes Hawaii can adjust...
I don't think Hawaii is going into it with the mentality of running their QB's, they are going to want to establish the run using their RB's so that it creates space for their quick and fast WR's. Hawaii's speed on offense is superior to BYU's speed on defense pretty much all around, they're faster. And because they employ 4 wr's usually that means the guys covering them will be slower than they are in some of the match ups, BYU's LB's are certainly not as fast as Hawaii's wr's so if Hawaii can force them to try to cover WR's with LB's then they will certainly not be in any position to keep Cordiero and McDonald from running. And the Hawaii wr's are very good at finding open spots in a zone defense and setting up in them to receive a pass.

I've actually spent quite a bit of time this year going over their offense with my son, I'm not going to give away any details of the scheme here, but if the QB and WR's both make the same, and correct, read the drop 8 will not be as effective as hoped. The fact the QB's are so mobile makes it harder on the defense and is going to leave open spots for the wr's to exploit.

I think you're making a mistake to think this is something in BYU's favor, it isn't, in fact it is BYU's biggest problem and the one they need to plan for.
