Ate breakfast at a restaurant that I frequent 3+ times a week. Complimented the
Manager, who is my friend, on a great omelet. I love a good omelet and I think it's good to let the chef know when their work is appreciated.

My manager friend asked me what I liked about it. I mentioned the improvement in the amount of mozzarella cheese. I also let her know that I could tell there was a new chef by the way they cooked the omelet. In fact, I had started coming in to the restaurant the past month twice as often each week just to order the omelet.

She said they have a new chef. She'll talk to the chef about not putting so much cheese in the omelets from now on... it's too expensive for her budget if the chef uses that much cheese.

Lesson I learned: be happy with extra cheese, but never compliment the manager, just the chef directly. I go to that restaurant half as often now.
